Down to its last strike in the top of the ninth, the Kansas State Wildcats refused to lose and rallied with a pair of two-out hits to tie the game 2-2. K-State then scored four runs in the top of the tenth and beat Oregon State 6-2 in the first game of the Corvallis Super Regional at Goss Stadium.

Pac-12 Player of the Year Michael Conforto laced an 0-2 pitch for a 2-run homer in the fourth to account for all of OSU's scoring.  It gave the Beavers a 2-0 lead, but the Wildcats rallied and managed to post their first extra-inning victory of the season.

Kansas State, playing in its first Super-Regional game in program history, improved to 45-17, the 45 wins extending the school record.

Jake Matthys worked the final two innings for Kansas State and picked up the victory to improve his record to 9-1.

The two teams play again Sunday at 7:05 pm.  Oregon State must win to force a decisive Game 3 on Monday.  If Kansas State wins, the Wildcats will head to the College World Series for the first time.
