Portland police have arrested the driver in a fatal crash that killed a man on Southwest Barbur Boulevard early Friday morning.
Twenty-nine-year-old Audy Molina-Colindres faces charges of manslaughter, reckless driving and DUII. Officers say he was driving Southbound on Barbur, near Southwest Miiles Street just after 3 a.m., when he lost control of the car, crossed the median, and slammed into a tree.
Molina-Colindres was trapped inside the car, suffering from serious injuries. Portland fire crews rescued him. His passenger, 28-year-old Dmitiry Maksimov, died at the scene.
This is the 35th traffic-related fatality this year in Portland.
