Early Sunday morning, residents in Marion County on Wintel Road SE began calling 911, because a man was knocking on their doors asking for a place to sleep.  They didn't know his car had been destroyed by a train.

When deputies arrived to question 24-year-old Kyle Randall they noticed a column of smoke.  They found a car on fire that appeared to have been hit by a train.

After questioning Randall deputies learned he hit a moving train and his car was carried 300 feet.  It caught fire, but he was able to get out and wasn't hurt.

He was apparently looking for a place to sleep it off when he was knocking on doors.

He was arrested for DUI.  His blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.
