During MTV's Video Music Awards show Sunday night, Miley Cyrus was given the Video of the Year trophy for her song "Wrecking Ball," but she didn't accept the trophy.

She had a man named Jesse accept the honor.  He talked about the plight facing homeless youth.

No background information was given about Jesse, but Brooks Barnes, of the New York Times, says Jesse is 22-years-old and from Oregon.

He said he had been living on the streets in Hollywood.  In his prepared remarks, he said the music industry makes over $7 billion a year and there are 54,000 homeless on the streets in Los Angeles County.
