A disturbance inside of the New Copper Penny Nightclub at Southeast 92nd and Foster spilled out into the parking lot. This happened around 2 a.m. Sunday.

A man armed with a gun fired several shots toward the crowd. A 34-year-old man was hit. He was hospitalized with a non-life threatening injury.

Police don't know if the victim was the intended target or if the shooter had been inside the nightclub.

The suspect is described as an African American male wearing dark-colored pants, a light-colored top, skinny build.

Several officers, including a Police K-9 Unit, searched the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.

Based on information obtained at the scene, officers requested the Gang Enforcement Team to respond and continue the investigation.

One male was arrested due to outstanding warrants, not in connection with the shooting.
