We find the movie “Urban Cowboy” starring John Travolta and Debra Winger. The film is based on an Esquire Magazine article, centered on the real romance between two regulars at a Houston, Texas country bar.
We find Paul McCartney serving 10 days in a Tokyo jail for marijuana possession.
And we find a song on the radio by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The band shot a music video for the track because they didn't want to appear on The Merv Griffin Show in person… but still wanted to promote the song. It was the only place they thought the video would air… until the launch of MTV!
