We find STS-1… the first orbital spaceflight of NASA's Space Shuttle program. Columbia orbited Earth 36 times, and carried a crew of just two astronauts – mission commander John Young and pilot Robert Crippen.
We find President Reagan nominating the first woman to the Supreme Court of the United States, Sandra Day O'Connor.
And we find a song on the radio by Hall & Oates. Songwriter Warren Pash came up with the song idea after a drive down Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles. He spotted a movie poster for the film “The Private Eyes” starring Don Knots and Tim Conway... and the song "Private Eyes” came to life.
