We find Hands Across America… with over 6 million people holding hands for fifteen minutes in an attempt to form a continuous human chain across the contiguous United States. $15 million was raised to fight hunger and homelessness.
And we find a song by Lionel Richie on the radio. Lionel spared no expense for the music video utilizing the rotating room effect made famous by Fred Astaire. The “Dancing On The Ceiling” video cost $400,000, making it the most expensive short form music-video production at the time.
