In the time capsule today…
We find actress Jane Fonda touring North Vietnam. During her trip she was photographed sitting on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun. The photo, for which she later apologized, outraged many Americans.
We find an action thriller film in theaters starring Charles Bronson. “The Mechanic” is noted for its opening, which features no dialogue for the first 16 minutes!
And we find a song on the radio by Steely Dan. It’s the band’s least favorite song… with Donald Fagan saying, "It's dumb but effective." Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page likes it though, and said “Reelin' In The Years” has his favorite guitar solo of all time.
