We find the "Expansion Bowl:" two brand new NFL teams playing each other on the gridiron. The Seattle Seahawks beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-10.
We find the third film of the Dirty Harry series in theaters. “The Enforcer” was inspired by the Symbionese Liberation Army kidnapping of Patty Hearst. However, in the movie, the mayor of San Francisco is the one kidnapped.
And we find a song on the radio by The Doobie Brothers. The track popularized the phrase "taking it to the streets," which was rarely used, at least in print, before the song appeared.
