Portland International Airport is preparing for the Spring Break rush from March 19th through April 14th.

From Thursday, March 19 through Tuesday, April 14, nearly 1.4 million travelers are expected to pass through PDX (inbound, outbound, and connecting) – this would be an 2% increase over roughly the same period in 2025.

Friday, March 27 is looking to be the busiest travel day of this period, with around 55,000 travelers in and out of PDX on this day alone.

The airport’s main terminal is in its final months of construction, but there have been big changes over the past few months to ensure an even easier journey through PDX:

Parking: Our “Remember Where You Parked” tool is live! If you are parking in our long or short-term garages, enter your parking location to get step-by-step directions back to your vehicle from anywhere in PDX.
TSA wait times: Wondering how long it will take to get through TSA? We got you. On FlyPDX, we track estimated wait times at the security checkpoints.
Getting around the terminal: Check out the map on FlyPDX.com for a guide to all the newest local shops and restaurants – including our new pre-security pop-ups ECOVIBE and Mikiko Mochi Donuts – as well as familiar favorites like the Sensory Room (Concourse D) and Hollywood Theatre (Concourse C). The map can estimate your walk time from point to point within the terminal – factoring in current wait times at security checkpoints or accessible routes (using elevators instead of escalators).
Goodbye, detours: The detours we had in place to get travelers safely around construction zones to Concourses B and E are both gone for the first time in years! Travelers now have much shorter, direct routes connecting the concourses (check out the attached moving graphic for a visual). We’re still putting on the finishing touches to our North and South Exit Halls, which means there’s still a little longer walk through our temporary exit. For anyone who needs help with the longer walks, wheelchair service can be requested through your airline in advance or by calling 503-460-4300.

TSA officers are working without pay, due to the budget dispute in Congress. Donation bins have been set up at the airport.

Items that can be accepted:
- Non-perishable food (canned goods, snacks, rice, pasta, and peanut butter)
- Household essentials (soap, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, toothpaste, and pet food)
- Gift cards for $25 or less for groceries, gas, or major retailers (Examples: Target, Fred Meyer, Safeway)
Items that cannot be accepted:
- Cash, checks, or cash cards
- Used, damaged, or unpackaged item
- Clothing
- Larger household items, like appliances
