Technology is helping a chicken cross the road.
A rooster, Roo, was severely injured during a fight with another chicken that was rescued during the California wildfires. Roo was left with head trauma and is now able eat and walk thanks to a specialized wheelchair that caretaker Darcy Smith got from an Australian company called Chicken Therapy Chairs. Thanks to the device, Roo’s life is improving and he gets around fine.
The unique company is also being inundated with requests for the chairs. Win-win! To keep up on Roo’s progress, check out Smith’s Funky Chicken Facebook page.
