Kiss from Pope Francis Cures Cancer!

Did a kiss from Pope Francis create a miracle?

That’s the buzz since Giana Masciantonio has now been declared cancer free. Here’s the thing, back in 2015, you may remember the pontiff visited Philadelphia. Thousands flocked to the city for a glimpse of him, and then-baby Gianna was held up as Pope Francis walked by her family and he kissed her. The moment went viral.

What no one knew, including the pope, was she had an inoperable brain tumor and was on hospice. After the papal kiss scans showed the tumor was almost undetectable and then…it was gone. Dr. Amish Shah, a pediatric neuro-oncologist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), is as stunned as anyone on the staff. “She’s resilient and she’s tough and instead of taking all this as something to be fearful of, she’s really taking this in stride.”

The Masciantonio family started “For the Love of Grace,” a foundation in honor of the miracle girl and has donated 50-thousand dollars to CHOP for pediatric brain tumor research. Dad Joey says they just want to help other kids.

Gianna is still cancer free three years after that miracle kiss.
