A Wisconsin dad has taken his Halloween celebrations to a whole new level by building a replica of Disney's Haunted Mansion in his garage. Dan Schmidt is a design director at the Great Wolf Lodge resort chain who knows how to renovate the surplus space in his home. He's been plugging away at the project since 2014, and his children have likely enjoyed every last minute. Inspired by backyard PVC roller coasters, Schmidt used plywood to form the track's base. Schmidt's DIY Haunted Mansion originally made waves in 2017, but Gizmodo recently resurrected its spirit in time for the spookiest day of the year.
