Time's Person Of The Year Is - The Guardians
“Time” magazine has chosen its 2018 Person of the Year and it’s a collective.
The publication opted to give a group of journalists, who have sacrificed their freedom or lost their lives, the honor. Murdered “Washington Post” Columnist Jamal Khashoggi, the victims of the Capital Gazette shooting in Maryland, Filipino journalist Maria Ressa and jailed journalists Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oohas been collectively named Time's Person Of The Year.
“Time” is calling these journalists "The Guardians" and is recognizing them for their effort in fighting what it calls The War On Truth. The magazine has published the story of each guardian and outlines the war on truth in the age of the internet and President Donald Trump.
