Happy National Martini Day!

James Bond, the most conspicuous spy in the history of espionage, demands a martini be "shaken not stirred."According to reputable bartenders, however, there can be no worse way to create the cocktail.

The reason, simple. Shaking the ice waters down the alcohol! The demands of Mr. Bond are such that, perhaps, a watered-down might be preferable. However, a more obvious answer is that stirring a drink lacks the gravitas of a good shake. Do we want a stronger drink or a stronger look?

Here, Austin bartenders Brian and Jason show us how to make Esquire's favorite martini.
