If you’ve ever been carded as an adult, take heart because you’re not the only one. Tom Hanks – easily one of the most recognizable faces in the world – was actually denied a drink.
The Oscar winner was at the Stagecoach Music Festival in California to support his wife, Rita Wilson, who performed. Right before she hit the stage, he decided to go get himself a beer. After the staffer recognized him, he asked for a drink. They asked to see his ID bracelet. He said, “First of all, you know my name, and secondly, I'd like a beer,” to which he was told: “Well we can't sell you a beer without proof of ID.”
The 62-year-old wasn’t able to get a drink until he literally produced an ID bracelet saying that he was over 21. The manager apologized and told him, “If I give you a beer, I’m just going to get fired.”
