The suspect who stole a MAIL TRUCK has been identified as 24 year-old Monique Cortez-Munos.
On Thursday at noon Portland Police responded to the report of a woman stealing a United States Postal Service truck. The woman had crashed the stolen truck into a bus, where minor injuries were reported due to the impact.
Officers located the mail truck a few minutes later. The woman then, due to erratic driving behavior, flipped the mail truck near NE 155th Ave and Fremont. She then ran shirtless from the scene, and was taken into custody by police officers after a twelve block foot pursuit.
She was transported to a local area hospital for drugged induced behavior, and later booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center.
She was charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, Mail Theft, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, Reckless Driving, Resisting Arrest and other related charges.
