The Portland Tofurky Trot, Thursday November 28 at Oaks Park, 9-10:30am.

The Oregon Road Runners Club Turkey Trot is a 4 mile run & walk on Thanksgiving at the Oregon Zoo, 8am.Lots of activities for the kids too with the Kids’ Tot Trot and Diaper Dash at 9:30 and 945am.A great way to start Thanksgiving before sitting down for that gigantic meal!

Northeast Community Center puts on the 2019 Turkey Trot 5k fun run in the Hollywood district. This is an all ages event and supports NECC’s commitment to youth programs and a vibrant community in NE Portland.

The Grotto’s Christmas Festival of Lights opens this weekend and runs thru December 30th, the world’s largest Christmas Choral Festival and gardens that boast over half a million lights.

The 2019 Thanksgiving: Dead Streets Ride is billed as the coolest, most chill Thanksgiving Tradition in Portland when bike riders can hit the nearly carless streets and ride through downtown Portland.Meet up at Holladay Park at 9:30am and work up a hunger for the meal that is to come.

Union Gospel Mission will serve a traditional Thanksgiving feast to anyone who needs a hot meal in their annual Love Your Neighbor Day. More than 1,200 meals will be served.Sign up to volunteer.

The Downtown Portland Holiday Tree Lighting & Sing-a-long takes place the day after Thanksgiving on November 29 at Pioneer Courthouse Square, 5:30-6:30pm.More than 25,000 Portlanders will sing along with Thomas Lauderdale with members of Pink Martini and other local musicians and artists before Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler flips the switch on the 75’ Douglas Fir in Portland’s Living Room.

ZooLights at the Oregon Zoo runs November 29-January 5 dazzling parents and children alike with a display of more than 1.5 million lights. In addition to visiting the animals, you can ride the lighted train and carousel, enjoy hot chocolate and local food carts and take a photo with Santa thru December 24th (he’s a little busy after that).
