What to do if your pet needs to see a vet during the crisi!

Nothing about the world right now feels like business as usual, and unfortunately, this is true about accessing vet care for our dogs. This week my 15 year -old Lab Luke started acting strange, he was grumpy, and eyes were a bit swollen and a constant runny nose. He seemed to have trouble sleeping too. However, he didn't seem to be in any distress, appetite like a horse and still wagged his tail and loved walks in the park. Nevertheless, we knew there was a problem so, we called our local vet and was relieved that they were open and could get him in for an appointment the the next day, but it was an appointment, unlike any vet appointment I’ve ever taken a dog to. Our vet is Powell Vet Clinic in Westmoreland. New guidelines have us pull into the parking lot, call, they come out and get Luke, take him back, examine, call my cell phone with diagnosis and recommended treatment. Afterwards, he is brought back outside and released to us at the car. We pay over the phone. It's a weird way of doing things but its the safest way. Here is an article I found about what to do if your pet needs to see a vet!
