As nurses continue to risk their lives on the front lines of the battle against the COVID-19 outbreak, both Oregon and Washington have been deemed among the best states in the nation for them to work, according to a new study.
WalletHub compared 22 key metrics for current nurses and those who are new graduates across all 50 states to highlight the nursing-job opportunism in each market. The data set ranges from monthly average starting salary for nurses to health-care facilities per capita to nursing-job openings per capita.
Oregon and Washington ranked a very close 1-2 in the survey, with New Mexico a hair behind at No. 3. Minnesota and Nevada round out the Top 5.
