in #CASE you missed it... Coast Guard Rescues Girl On Raft Swept Out To Sea
A day at the beach turned into a scary situation for a little girl in Puerto Rico. The U.S. Coast Guard reports that a child between four and six years old was on an inflatable raft and she got pulled out to sea before they rescued her.
Fortunately, the girl was wearing a life jacket and stayed on her raft as she was swept out into deeper water. Bystanders on the beach reported the incident and crew members from the Coast Guard Boat Station San Juan were sent out on a 33-foot ship to search for her. They found her more than half a mile from the shore and safely got her out of the water.
“This brave little girl was very fortunate to survive this ordeal, explains Petty Officer 2nd Class Jesse Wilde. “Despite the situation, she was in good spirits, we’ll never forget her smile once she realized she was safe.”
