The boys are making homemade dog treats and using their profits to donate to a local food pantry.
A pair of 10-year-old best friends in Massachusetts have been busy in the kitchen for the last few months, but they’re not cooking up snacks for themselves. Daniel Grant and Max Caponigro have been creating the perfect homemade dog treats, baking them and delivering them to dog parents nearby.
The rising fifth graders started doing it as a way to keep busy, but now they’re running a thriving small business and have used their profits to help others. They split the money that comes in, with Daniel, Max, and the Milton Food Pantry each getting 30% and the other 10% goes to buy supplies. So far, they’ve made $400 worth of donations to the food pantry.
“We wanted to pick a charity that would help with COVID, and the food pantry has been really busy,” Max says. And Daniel says he’s “learned you have to be responsible, adding, “Your parents won’t always pay for everything or do stuff for you.”
