In the capsule today…

We find the end of the Cod Wars… with the UK conceding valuable fishing rights to Iceland. British fishing communities lost thousands of jobs, and fish and chip meals became harder to come by, supplanted by a sausage dish known as the Saveloy.

We find the third film of the Dirty Harry series in theaters. “The Enforcer” was inspired by the Symbionese Liberation Army kidnapping of Patty Hearst. In the movie, the mayor of San Francisco is the one kidnapped.

And we find a song on the radio by Peter Frampton. The studio version went nowhere when Peter released it the year prior. However this live version from the “Frampton Comes Alive” album became a huge hit!
