In the capsule today…

We find the Lufthansa heist, a robbery at New York's J.F.K. Airport. Five million dollars in cash was taken, along with a million dollars in jewelry. The robbery became a key plot element for the film Goodfellas.

We find a new game at the arcade. "Space Invaders" is the first fixed shooter game. The many versions have grossed over $13 billion in total revenue to date, making it the highest-grossing video game of all time.

And we find a song on the radio by Journey. Even though the song is about San Francisco, it was written in Los Angeles. Steve Perry initially wrote, “When the lights go down in the city and the sun shines on L.A.,” but thought that “Bay” sounded better.
