In the capsule today…
We find a shooting at Cleveland Elementary School in San Diego. Brenda Ann Spencer killed two faculty members and wounded eight students. When asked why she did it, she said, “I don’t like Mondays.”
We find Disco Demolition Night at Comiskey Park in Chicago. A crate filled with disco records was blown up on the field between games of a doubleheader. Fans rushed the field in celebration, and the explosion damaged the turf... forcing the White Sox to forfeit the second game.
And we find a song on the radio by Earth Wind & Fire. The song was inspired by the movie “Looking For Mr. Goodbar.” The film stars Diane Keaton as a lost soul who goes to clubs every night to dance away her misery.
