We find a controversy in the United States after John Lennon said in a published interview, "We're more popular than Jesus now." This led some radio stations to ban The Beatles from their playlists, and help listeners destroy Beatles records and merchandise.

We find the passing of Walt Disney. After falling ill, doctors discovered that he had a tumor on his lung. Walt was a heavy smoker, and ten days after his 65th birthday he passed away.

And we find a song on the radio by the Beach Boys. Most romantic songs at the time were about getting married… as most Americans married in their early 20s at the time. Brian Wilson took a different approach with “Wouldn't It Be Nice,” singing about being too young to be married!
