We find a ban on radio and television cigarette advertisements going into effect.

We find Charles Manson and three female "Family" members being found guilty of the Tate–LaBianca murders.

And we find a song on the radio by Brewer & Shipley. Tom Shipley explained that “One Toke Over the Line” was just a metaphor. It's a song about excess, and, “Too much of anything will probably kill you."
