We find the initial broadcast of “Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends.” The show first aired in the UK, and was narrated by Ringo Starr. George Carlin was later the voice for the US broadcasts.
We find the crack epidemic sweeping across the country. It was first introduced into Los Angeles, and soon spread across the United States, bringing violence and chaos.
And we find Madonna debuting a new song at the MTV VMAs. Wearing a wedding dress and a belt buckle that said "Boy Toy," she rolled around the stage and into the role of an American pop icon.
