Carson Time Capsule... Thursday, October 15th.

In the capsule today…

We find the introduction of the A-M-C Gremlin. Executives apparently did not worry that the name “Gremlin” might have negative connotations… and marketed the subcompact car as "cute and different."

We find the Ohio National Guard opening fire on student protesters at Kent State University. Twenty-eight soldiers fired 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds. Four students died, nine were wounded. No criminal convictions were obtained against any National Guardsman.

And we find a song on the radio by The Jackson 5. Motown signed the group two years prior and moved them to Los Angeles. "ABC" is considered to be one of the first disco songs.
