Carson Time Capsule... Tuesday, October 20th.

In the capsule today…

We find the debut of the National Railroad Passenger Corporation. The brand name was originally set to be Railpax, but two weeks before operations began, the name was changed to Amtrak.

We find astronauts David Scott and James Irwin driving on the moon… with the Apollo 15 Lunar Roving Vehicle.

And we find a song on the radio by the Five Man Electrical Band. Lead singer Les Emmerson wrote “Signs” after a road trip on Route 66, where he was shocked by the number of billboards choking the beautiful scenery.
