Carson Time Capsule... Friday, November 13th.

In the capsule today…

We find Vice President George Bush announcing that out of ten finalists, New Hampshire teacher Christa McAuliffe will become the first school teacher to go to space aboard the Shuttle Challenger.

We find a science-fiction film by Ron Howard about a group of elderly people rejuvenated by aliens. Wilford Brimley, was only 49 when he was cast as a senior citizen for the film, stars in “Cocoon.”

And we find a song on the radio by Tom Petty. The track was actually written by Dave Stewart from the - Eurythmics. Dave met Stevie Nicks backstage after a show in Los Angeles, and the two had a “romantic encounter” that night. But to his surprise Stevie kicked him out early the next morning. Reflecting on the unusual experience, he wrote “Don't Come Around Here No More,” and eventually gave it to Tom Petty.
