Carson Time Capsule... Friday, December 4th.

In the capsule today…

We find the first Home Depot opening in Marietta, Georgia. Co-founder Arthur Blank says the name came from an investor on a train ride.

We find a disaster–horror film about a killer-bee invasion of Texas. Despite an all-star cast, “The Swarm” is considered to be one of the worst movies ever made. Real bees were used in the production… over 15 million of them… including 800,000 bees with their stingers removed, to enable the cast to work safely.

And we find Rod Steward trying his hand at a disco tune after the success of “Miss You” by the Rolling Stones. He later admitted that he’s embarrassed to sing the song… but “people love it. So it's in the show."

What is the year? (answer below).
