Carson Time Capsule... Wednesday, December 16th.

We find the release of Windows 1.0, the first graphical operating environment developed by Microsoft. Critics panned Microsoft for putting too much emphasis on the mouse, a new concept at the time.

We find a movie featuring teens from different social cliques together in detention hall. Filming for the “The Breakfast Club” took place at Maine North High School in Des Plaines, Illinois. The library was intended to be used, but the small size of the room prompted the crew to build the set in the school gymnasium.

And we find a song on the radio by the Commodores. "Nightshift" was the group's first hit after the departure of Lionel Richie, and was written as a tribute to Jackie Wilson and Marvin Gaye, both of whom died the year prior.
