Carson Time Capsule... Tuesday, December 22nd.

In the capsule today…

We find Senator Gary Hart dropping out of the presidential race, amid allegations of an extramarital affair with staffer Donna Rice. An infamous picture soon appeared in the National Enquirer, showing Gary in a “Monkey Business” T-shirt and Donna sitting on his lap.

We find the film “Fatal Attraction” in theaters, starring Michael Douglas and Glenn Close. Glenn says that random men still come up to her and say, “You scared the crap out of me, and saved my marriage.”

And we find a Christmas song on the radio recorded by U2. “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” was originally performed by Darlene Love and written by Phil Spector. But the song was released on the same day JFK was assassinated, and only became popular decades later. Darlene sings the complete backup vocals on the U2 cover.
