Carson Time Capsule... Wednesday, December 23rd.

In the capsule today…

We find crush before a concert featuring "The Who" in Cincinnati. Eleven fans are killed in a stampede for general admission seating as the doors open. The band wasn’t told, and concert continued on as planned, as bodies were taken away from the arena entryway.

We find the dystopian action thriller "Mad Max" in theaters. Instead of casting a well known actor for the lead, director George Miller opted to keep the budget low with an unknown Australian: Mel Gibson.

And we find a Christmas song on the radio by Paul McCartney. Paul recorded all the tracks by himself at his farm in Scotland. And Forbes magazine estimates that Paul makes $400,000 each year in royalties from the song.

What is the year? (answer below).
