Carson Time Capsule... Monday, January 11th.

In the capsule today…

We find Viet Cong forces launching a series of surprise attacks across South Vietnam in what becomes known as the Tet Offensive. The attack shocked the American public, who had been led to believe that they were winning the war.

We find Andy Wharhol recovering from a gunshot wound. Valerie Solanas, a Feminist writer who advocated for the elimination of men, pulled the trigger. Andy almost died, and Valerie got a three year sentence.

And we find a song on the radio by James Taylor. James wrote “Something In The Way She Moves” about an unnamed girlfriend, and it ended up influencing The Beatles! When George Harrison heard the track, he wrote the song “Something," which appeared on Abbey Road the following year.
