Carson Time Capsule... Tuesday, January 19th

In the capsule today…

We find the Apple Computer Company releasing its initial product… the Apple 1. Before the Apple 1 computers were sold in kits that you had to build yourself. Steve Wozniak describes how that fact led to the business.

We find Bruce Jenner winning Olympic gold in the men's decathlon in Montreal. After the win, Jenner took an American flag from a spectator and waved it during the victory lap, starting a tradition now common for winning athletes.

And we find "You Should Be Dancing” on the radio by the Bee Gees. Stephen Stills plays the timbales on the track. He later recalled "We were recording in the studio next door, and David Crosby was convinced that our record was going to be the album of the year. Having heard what the Gibb brothers were up to, I said no... that is being recorded across the hall."

What is the year? (answer below).
