We find a hot new electronic game named “Simon.” The device creates a series of tones and lights, and then requires a player to repeat the sequence. The game was sold for $25, which is equivalent to $100 today!
We find a new television show on ABC. “Taxi” is set at the fictional Sunshine Cab Company in New York City. The sitcom follows the everyday lives of cab drivers, and their abusive dispatcher, Louie De Palma, played by Danny DeVito.
And we find “Running On Empty” on the radio by Jackson Browne. The song title had a literal meaning for Jackson, who told Rolling Stone: "I was always driving around with no gas in the car. The studio was just a few blocks from my place, and I never thought about it."
