Carson Time Capsule... Tuesday, February 9th

In the time capsule today…

In the capsule, we find a brand new automobile rolling off production lines… the DeLorean. The vehicle immediately stood out for its gull-wing doors and stainless-steel outer body panels. However it shortly also became known for its lack of power and performance, which did not match its looks or price tag.

We find the comedy film “Stripes” in theaters. Director Ivan Reitman pitched the film to Paramount Pictures with a single line: "Cheech and Chong join the army!" and the studio immediately greenlit the project. However, Cheech and Chong demanded complete creative control before agreeing to join the production. The film was then rewritten, and given to Bill Murray and Harold Ramis.

And we find a song on the radio by Blue Oyster Cult. The first eight lines of “Burnin' For You” each contain the word "home," and the word "time" appears in every line of the second verse!

What is the year? (answer below).
