Carson Time Capsule... Thursday, February 11th

In the time capsule today…

We find Clint Eastwood running for mayor of Carmel, California. His winning platform: make ice cream legal to eat on city streets, and add public restrooms to the public beach.

We find a comedy film in theaters starring Matthew Broderick, and written and directed by John Huges. John wrote the script to “Ferris Bueller's Day Off” in less than a week, and shot the film on what was essentially the first draft of the script.

And we find “Your Love” on the radio by “The Outfield.” The group formed in Manchester, England under the name "The Baseball Boys" before wisely opting for a change. Curiously the group, like baseball, had success in the US, but not in the UK.
