Carson Time Capsule... Wednesday, March 10th.

In the time capsule today…

We find the epic biographical war film “Patton” in theaters. George C. Scott plays World War II General George S. Patton. Historians have noted that Scott's gravelly and scratchy voice is actually the opposite of General Patton's high-pitched and nasally voice.

We find the Boeing 747 making its first commercial passenger flight. After Boeing introduced the 707 in the 1950s, Pan Am asked for a jet two-and-a-half times bigger. More than a decade later, Pan Am began service on what media nicknamed the Jumbo Jet.

And we find a song on the radio by George Harrison. “My Sweet Lord” was the first number one hit for any Beatle after the band broke up… and an uncredited Peter Frampton plays lead guitar on the recording.
