In the time capsule today…

We find “Urban Cowboy” in movie theaters, starring John Travolta and Debra Winger. The film is based on an Esquire Magazine article, centered on a romance between two regulars at a Houston, Texas country bar.

We find Paul McCartney serving ten days in a Tokyo jail for marijuana possession.

And we find a song “Let My Love Open The Door” on the radio by Pete Townshend. Pete’s manager hated the track because he thought it “did not sound like Pete Townshend." Pete himself was indifferent to it, calling the song "just a ditty."
