Carson Time Capsule... Thursday, April 8th.

In the time capsule today…

We find George Carlin hosting the first ever episode of “NBC's Saturday Night.” The show would later be renamed “Saturday Night Live.”

We find a recipe for the curiously titled "Gablinger's Diet Beer" sold to Miller Brewing. Miller then rebranded the product as "Lite Beer.” Whitey Ford and hard drinker Mickey Mantle are brought on as pitchmen.

And we find a song on the radio by David Bowie. John Lennon helped to write the song, and penned the song title, “Fame.” John also sang the background vocals.
