We find presidential candidate George Bush making a promise on taxes. The impact of the six-word phrase led to a fifteen-point bounce in a Gallup poll. However, after his election, several existing taxes were raised, leading to his defeat four years later.

We find a hybrid live-action and animated film in theaters. “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” featured many different well-known animated characters, which would only participate under certain conditions. For example, Disney's Donald Duck and Warner Bros.' Daffy Duck had to appear as equally talented dueling pianists.

And we find a song on the radio by When In Rome. The father of vocalist Clive Farrington converted a garden shed into a studio for the band, which is where their one-hit-wonder "The Promise" was written.
