In the time capsule today…
We find Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis starring in the high flying action movie “Top Gun.” Director Tony Scott was hired because producers liked a Saab commercial he had done, where a Saab 900 turbo is shown racing a fighter jet.
We find a hot new toy in stores. Lazer Tag was introduced with great fanfare and some controversy. Many labeled the infrared targeting game a “war toy.”
And we find a song on the radio by Wang Chung. The video for “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” features a jump cut for virtually every frame, and was banned by the BBC due to concerns about it triggering epileptic fits.
