In the time capsule today…
We find Michael Jordan emerging as a new and potent force in the NBA after setting a record for most points scored in a playoff game against the Boston Celtics. Larry Bird commented on the performance, "It was God disguised as Michael Jordan" on the court.
We find a two-hour live television special hosted by Geraldo Rivera titled, “The Mystery of Al Capone's Vaults.” The mysterious vaults were dug up on the live program to reveal their contents, empty space and debris. The innovative format was given the label "no-news" news, where instead of reporting on news, entire programs were about hypothetical news.
And we find a song on the radio by Whitney Houston. The song was actually written for Janet Jackson, who turned down the track. Clive Davis love the song however, who thought it perfect for the, at the time, unknown Whitney.
