In the time capsule today…

We find the introduction of one of the greatest video games of all time. Super Mario Bros. becomes an international sensation, and sells more than 50 million copies worldwide.

After 73 years lost at sea, a French–American expedition finds the wreckage of the Titanic. The team switch from sonar to a visual search on the seafloor… which soon turned up the gigantic debris field.

And we find a song on the radio by Tears for Fears. The title of the song was ripped from the 1980s Clash song "Charlie Don't Surf." Joe Strummer of The Clash later ran into the band at a restaurant and said, "You owe me a fiver." A five pound note was produced, and the matter settled.
