In the time capsule today…
We find amateur videographer George Holliday recording Los Angeles police beating a motorist outside of his apartment. He initially contacted the LAPD about the tape, but they weren’t interested. He then brought it to local TV news station KTLA.
We find the Chicago Bulls winning their first ever NBA championship, defeating the LA Lakers in five games.
And we find a cover song on the radio by Rod Stewart. The song was originally recorded by a relatively unknown Dutch rock and roll artist. Stewart's version reaches #5 on the Billboard Hot 100
