We find a nuclear catastrophe near-miss. The Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania suffers a partial meltdown of reactor number 2.
We find Disco Demolition Night at Comiskey Park in Chicago. A crate filled with disco records was blown up on the field between games of a doubleheader. The explosion damaged the turf... forcing the White Sox to forfeit the second game.
And we find a song on the radio by Donna Summer. "Hot Stuff" was Donna’s second #1 on the Billboard Hot 100; her first was her disco cover of "MacArthur Park."
